Ayrshire Guinea Pig Boarding

Meet the owner

Hello, I'm Lyndsey

I run Ayrshire Guinea Pig Boarding because I believe guinea pigs deserve dedicated, specialist care in a calm, knowledgeable place where their routines and quirks are properly understood.

Two decades with guinea pigs

I've spent over 20 years living with guinea pigs — quiet ones, chatty ones, fussy eaters, big-personality boars, gentle older girls. I've cared for all sorts of breeds, temperaments and coat types, and I've learned how individual every single piggy is.

I also volunteer with the local rescue community, which means I see what good care does — and what stress can do. Everything here is set up around the first.

My approach

How I care for every piggy

I notice the small stuff

A change in appetite, a quieter-than-usual wheek, a slightly different posture — I watch for the details that tell me how your piggy is feeling.

Routine is everything

Guinea pigs thrive on predictability. Feeding times, hay top-ups, quiet time and gentle interaction — it all happens on a schedule they can trust.

The right diet, every day

Unlimited good-quality hay, fresh water, daily pellets and around 50g of fresh vegetables per piggy. I'll follow your piggies' usual diet as closely as possible.

Honest communication

If anything changes while you're away, you'll hear from me. No sugar-coating, no surprises — just clear, kind updates so you know exactly how things are going.

Insurance

Fully insured and welfare-led

I'm fully insured, including Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, and Care, Custody and Control of Animals cover.

My boarding follows high standards of care, hygiene and welfare. I operate as a small, specialist service — your piggies are never one of many.
